OUR SOLUTIONS

POLLUTION STAINS ON PYROLYTIC GLASS

PYROLYTIC Glass are reflective glass with a hard coat. When pyrolytic coating is located on face 1 (outside) glass are vulnerable to corrosion by polluting agents like carbon monoxide, acid rain (chloride, sulphide). Rain carries these polluting agents, warmth and humidity accelerate the corrosion process.

Polluted pyrolytic glass lose their reflectivity, leading to unaesthetic look, loss of heat control, decrease of natural light transmission, increasing A/C and lighting bills.

Pyrolytic coating is very fragile, DO NOT USE STRONG CHEMICALS to try and restore it. This will destroy the coating and you will have to replace the glass

SOLUTION: RENU-GLASS

RENU-GLASS is a patented PH Neutral product developed in collaboration with Glass manufacturer Glaverbel (Now AGC). RENU-GLASS is a blend of rare earth able to restore any pyrolytic glass to its original condition without damaging it original characteristics.

HARD WATER STAINS

Hard water stain are one the most common stubborn stains. They can be carried onto the glass by rain but also by water used for general cleaning. Indeed water contains minerals that get embedded into the glass and cannot be removed by classic detergent.

IRIDESCENCE (RAINBOW STAINS)

IRIDESCENCE is the phenomenon of certain surfaces that appear to gradually change colour as the angle of view or the angle of illumination changes. On curtain wall Iridescence creates a rainbow stains effect created by condensation

that remains on glass surface for a long time.

This condensation form a layer of alkaline water that stains the glass during storage or during construction stage

when it gets in between the plastic protection film and the glass.

Unable to remove Iridescence contractors usually change entire glass panels, leading to high cost, disturbance for tenants or delay in project completion.

SOLUTION:  IRI-STOP

IRI-STOP will remove permanently remove iridescence. We recommend to polish the glass with RENU-GLASS after

applying IRI-STOP for a perfect result.

RUNOFF FROM MASONRY & SEALANT

During construction stage, masonry work leads to concrete stains that are very hard to remove. Curtain wall contractors usually scrap off concrete with a blade risking scratching the glass panels.

During the building lifespan, streaks appear on curtain wall fronts.

This can be due to sealant bleeding, dirt accumulation or silicate carried by rain. When rain water drains off we observe an unaesthetic deposit formation.

OXYDATION OF ANODISED ALUMINIUM

Anodised aluminium also shows signs of aging by fading and oxidisation. Fillers used to clog anodic coating during electrolyse tend to deteriorate with time and expose mill aluminium underneath it. Exposed to weather condition this aluminium will oxidise.

It is very important to avoid using strong chemicals on anodised aluminum to prevent damaging the filler.

RENUGLASS is using PH Neutral product to clean up the aluminium and a special coating to clog back the pores and protect the anodic coating.

SOLUTION:  RENU-ALU “A” + PRO-ALU

Restoration of anodised aluminium is a 2 step action:

  1. RENU-ALU “A” will remove corrosion and stubborn stains from the anodised aluminium

  2. PRO-ALU coating will be applied on the prepared surface, giving it back its orignal shine and protecting it from further degradation

FADED OR STAINED PVDF ALUMINIUM

PVDF and Powder Coated aluminium often deteriorate by fading, losing their original colour due

to sun exposure and weathering condition.

Its porous surface also traps pollution, runoff and all types of stains.

RENUGLASS developed solutions to remove stubborn stains but also to protect aluminium from fast staining. After restoration work we are able to prevent staining for a minium of 2 years.

SOLUTION: RENU-ALU "P" + PROTEC-ALU

RENU-ALU “P” will remove stubborn stains from the anodised aluminium

PROTEC-ALU coating will prevent staining for a minimum period of 2 years
